James Mathews was born in 1835. He had 7 children with Elizabeth nee. Kearney.
He was a Physician and Surgeon in Cavan Town where he lived on Main Street. He was also the doctor for the orphanage.
He died in 1895 in Cavan at the age of 60.
He was buried in the family grave at Lara.
