Migrated to/Born in USA

James P. Tracey was born in April 1830, at Dromard More in Tipperary. His parents were Daniel Treacy and Catherine Tuohy, who married about 1824 and had 11 children, several of whom died young.  Margaret (b.1825), James (b. 1830), and Michael (b. 1839) emigrated to the US and lived in Pennsylvania. Margaret had married James Quinlisk of Gortnagowna about 1849, prior to emigrating in 1851. James and Michael arrived in the US by 1860. At least one other brother and one sister also emigrated.

James, Michael, and his brother-in-law worked together throughout their lives, building railroads connecting Pennsylvania to New York for coal companies such as the Fall Brook Coal Co. James married Mary E. Maher in 1863 and had 7 children: Daniel, Michael, Catherine (Kitty), William, Mary, James Jr., and Margaret. James died in 1883 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
