Jane was a Skibbereen Workhouse orphan, who never knew her parents' names, or ecactly how old she was.
She was sent to Australia Cec 31st 1849, under the Earl Grey scheme.
She told her grandchildren that her brothers were sent to America.
She married English exile Thomas Constable in Geelong Victoria, April 9th 1852. She was about 16 years old when she married.
She had 9 children. The first, Mary Jane, drowned on the Ballarat gold diggings in 1846. The other 8 lived and all had children; one was my great grandfatther Thomas William Constable.
