Believe born c1804 in Shanagolden - 1. because she married in St Senan's Shanagolden (usually marry in the bride's parish) and 2. because her age at death was recorded as 35yrs in 1839. On 15 Feb 1827, marr John Corbett from Cosgirff. but I don't know if Cosgriff/Cosgrave/Kilcosgrave etc near Shanagolden OR Cosgriff nr Ludden, Ballybricken. Have recently found a Corbett fam in Ludden which could well be mine.
John and Johanna had two children - baptised in St Senan's: Timothy b 1827 and Catherine b1830. John was found guilty of sheep stealing and transported to Oz in 1831. At end of sentence, got his COF and had his family brought out by NSW Govt. Johanna only lasted 10 months, died Jan 1839. A very sad old tale that just got worse and worse. I am trying to honour them by writing a book about the fam. I think Johanna had siblings: Catherine, Patrick, Thomas and Bridget. Catherine marr James Nolan (1 x child Catherine) and Bridget marr John Gearin/Guerin (2 x children -Ellen b1829 and John b1833). Any rellies out there??!
