Hi, I have Bergin,Fox and Maher on ancestry just don't know the conection. MY Great Grandparents were Anne Dunne Ryan and Thomas Ryan of Shinrone, he was born 1846. Grandparents were Teresa Roe Ryan and Jeremiah Ryan he was born 1885. do these names mean anything to you.

Really tricky names to connect in this area! I don't know of the connection, and it's a pity Shinrome parish registers only go back to 1842. I can say that my Fox ancestors hail from Birdhill/Ballinahinch area of Tipperary. My Anne Fox had a brother Michael who married a Mary Ryan, but they didn't live in Shinrone. Anne and Michael Fox were the children of Patrick Fox and Mary Magrath.
I'm beinjg tortured by the many Maher's I'm finding, and using DNa to pick through the various lines.

Hi, I think the Maher and Bergin names are from county Laois just not sure how. The fox name I only see n Ancestor. I think on the County Laois Geaneology fb pg. I talked to some Maher but forget if we were connected. If you are searching those two names I would join Laois Geneology a very good free site.
