  • Any chance your John Burke and Mary Ann Cunningham had a daugher Catherine born about 1824?  Michael O'Dea born Annaghdown ca. 1819 married a Catherine Burke in St. Mary's North End Boston in 1852.  According to the marriage record  her father was John Burke.

  • Yes, they did have a daughter named Catherine. She, however, had married to Thomas Gantley in 1851 at St Dominic's RC church, Portland, Maine. Thomas was born in Galway, too.

  • Thanks do much for your prompt response.  I figured it was a long shot because Burke is a pretty common Irish surname.  It sounds like you have done some pretty solid family history research.  Congratulations.

  • If you do not have this already, the church record for your Michael and Catherine gives Martin Burke and Hannah Burke as their sponsors.

Do you know where they lived in MA? Did they have children?
