Dreadful Murder

On the night of Wednesday last, a man named John Doonikan / Doonigan / Doonikun was brutally murdered near Ballinameen, about four miles from this town, by three fellows, who watched him while he was drinking in a public house, and, having dogged him for some distance alter left the bouse, knocked him down, and beat in his skull with leaded sticks. The deceased received four blows on the head —each sufficient to cause death. We are happy to say that two of the ruffians have been apprehended by the police party stationed in Ballinameen, and fully corns milted to abide their trial the ensuing Assizes, Boyle Gazette.
