Migrated to/Born in South Africa

My great grandfather John Fulton was the son of William Fulton 5/10/1820 - 2/4/1880 and Jan Bennett 1824 - 26/11/1901.  John married an Agnes Mahon (not sure where) and they came out to South Africa.  Agnes unfortunately passed away, and John remarried an Elizabeth Harper.  They had six daughters, of which my grandmother was one.

Two of John's siblings were James and George who, in 1888, purchased all the properties in Millisle which had belonged to the Carmichael family. This included two corn mills and a flax mill. I am not sure whether Mill House was included in this sale.   When James died he left these properties to his brother in law, John Mitchell, husband of his sister, Elizabeth.

Another sister, Mary Ann married Thomas McGilton who, at some stage, owned the Ballycopeland Windmill.

John Fulton was an engineer and worked at the Jagersfontein Diamond mine, in the Orange Free State, South Africa.
