John James O'Connor was baptized on Sept 5th, 1845 to James O'Connor and Mary Callahan according to his death certificate. I have NOT been able to find out where he was baptized as the parish records online are illegible. He immgrated in 1847 from Ireland with his parents, we think to US but it could have been to Canada.
I have found a Mary Callahan baptized February 4, 1812 in Tralle, Kerry Ireland. but the only marriage record I found was for Mary married to a Michael O'Connor in Tralee on Jan 26, 1826.
Another researcher has noted that John James was born in Lomanagh, Kerry. When I checked there were 2 RC parishes in Lomanagh- Killemlash and Killgarvan. Using Griffiths Valuation, I found a Johanna Callahan in Kilgarvan and several James O'Connors is Castleisland and Tralee.
The only other clue I have is that I found a will for a James O'Connor in 1908 Ossining, Westchester County NY. This is the area John James O;Connor and his family lived in NY for many years. The will notes James was from Carris or Corris Kerry Co. Ireland which I could NOT find any reference to.
