This is John Loughnane (1848-1892), second son of Denis Loughnane (1819-1897) and Catherine Donohue (1829?-1901) married Oct.1846.
As far as I know they (Denis and Catherine)married in Templederry, Co. Tipperary but lived mostly in Reiskmore, Toomevara, Co. Tipperary, Nenagh poor union, upper Ormond, Ballymackey. I think it was Kilalloe Parish, and I have a news clipping that Catherine was brought to Ballinree Church for service and burial. Denis died of throat cancer.
I believe there were 7 or 8 children, at least, I believe John was oldest, with a James next (Rev James who eventually was Administrator in Co. Clare, Newmarket on Fergus, in one of their Catholic churches there). John came to US, Hartford CT and married my great grandmother Anne Shea (1857-1936 - from Nenagh, Tipperary). They had 4 or 5 children. Within 18 mos.period of time or less, John died, a baby died, and a 7 yr.old son died. Anne ended up with two daughters, Catherine and Mary(Molly) my grandmother. I believe John worked in a book store or something like that, and Anne worked as a housekeeper/servant for years and then eventually ran a boarding house.

Thank you so much. I have seen some of these. Who is the Anne census referring to? Also I'm thinking we may never have anything definitive for Denis and Catherine's birth as they just do not have records that far back. The interesting thing is where they are buried, there is a Denis Loughnane buried there that died in 1800 so it seems the family was around the area for quite some time.

Hi Betsy,
Anne is Patrick's wife. He died before the 1901 Census.

I have seen Johannas information before. On the two records you sent for Anne, one does not have her name and one has nothing. So both Patricks, Johannas husband and Patrick, the son both died before the 1901 census. I did not know that.

Hi Betsy, yes, I always look at the original documnets incase there is anything I can pick up.
Have you created a tree in any site?
The easiest is familysearch it's the old LDS site. It's free and easy to use.
Start with yourself and work back.
This site below, you can get lots of info from here.

Thank you. Yes! My tree is on LDS site. And I really like it. Its user friendly and I've gotten so many indexes and records from them. I will check out the site you sent some more. I have seen it before.
