When John Nash was born about 1834, in county Laois, Ireland, his father, James, was about 37 and his mother, Jane, 31. He married Mary O'Neil and they had three children together. Mary died a few days after the birth of their 3rd child, the other children having died days or weeks after their births. Mary O'Neil was born in 1833 in Swatragh, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, the daughter of Helen and John. She married John on 29 January 1854 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland
John then married Helen Weeple (Walpoole, Walpole, Wipple, Wople) on October 1, 1858, in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland and they had nine children together, including my grandfather, Richard Nash (1876-1956). John died on November 1, 1892, at the age of 58. His wife Helen was born around1836, possibly in Rosscommon, Ireland and died in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1921 aged about 85.
