John was born at Rockmount Drimoleague around 1906. He lived in the same house at the Top of the Rock until his death in

1996. His four sisters and one brother emigrated to Boston area USA and his brother Richard lived with him in the house until his death in 1993. 

John Married Mary Murray  in 1959 but sadly she died in 1969.

He farmed twenty acres at Rockmount and was well respected by his neighbours and friends.
