John O Connor,South Street, New Ross, shopkeeper married Catherine(Kate) Nolan,, South Street, New Ross.on the 5th August 1888. Fathers names given as Felix O Connor and Richard Nolan on the marriage registration.

They had four children, Bridget Mary O Connor , 4/9/1889 - 4/9/1899

Mary Catherine(Mary Kate), 4/9/1899 - ?, It is believed she joined a convent, known as Sr.Majella and moved to England.

                                     Felix O Connor  8/9/1892 -1893

Bridget Mary O Connor - 3/8/1893 - 1978( Emigrated to USA and married a Dennis Holden, Powerswood, Thomastown.)When she emigrated she stayed with an aunt/cousin called Bridget O Connor whos fathers name is believed to be Morgan O Connor.

It is belive that Catherine Nolan O Connor passed away at an early age and that Mary Catherine & Bridget Mary were in an orphanage for a while.

I can find no trace of the family on the 1901 census. Bridget Mary appears on the 1911 census living in Inistioge with her mothers sister Ann and her husband Pat Roche.

I think there is a connection with the O Connor name with the Ballymurrin area near Enniscorthy?

This is all the information I can find on the above family.

Is anybody researching this family?

Thank you.
