John Quinn was my grandfather, born in Leixlip 20.2.1891
His father was Thomas Quinn and mother Esther (Kane). Thomas was a shopkeeper.
Siblings were
Albertina, Marcella, Maria, Thomas and James
According to 1911 census they moved to Dublin and Thomas is widower. John is not on 1911 census, although there is a John Quinn, occupation storeman/servant at 5 Corbally, Newbridge, Kildare
John departed London 1912 for Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
John married my grandmother Bridget Carroll in Melbourne 1917
Children were John, died as baby, Monica, Kathleen (my mother) and Marcy
John disappeared when children were very young
I’m wondering if there are any living relatives who could shed any light on him or family
Thank you

John Quinn was my grandfather and was born in Leixlip 20.2.1891
His father was Thomas Quinn, shopkeeper
His mother was Esther (Kane). Esther died at 30 years of age.
There children were Albertiina, Marcella, Maria, John, Valentino
According to 1901 census Mary was Thomas’s wife, so I presume he remarried.
1911 census has Thomas as widower plus Albertina, Marcella, Maria, Thomas and James. There address is in Dublin. There is a John Quinn 20 years occupation storeman/servant at 5 Corbally, Newbridge, Kildare. John sailed from London to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1912. He married Bridget (Carroll) 1917. They had one son John, who died at birth and three daughters, Monica, Kathleen and Marcy. John disappeared when the children were very young, so there is very little information about him in Melbourne. I would be very interested if anyone could shed any light on the family. John has been a mystery to me all my life. Thank you.
