Joseph Jackson (born about 1781) and his wife Anne (born about 1778) had at least five children - Mary (b. 1808), John (b. 1811), Jane (b. 1813), Robert (b.1815) and Sophia (b. 1816).  There are baptismal records for some of the children, and these state that Joseph and Anne were resident in Ballymagerny, Loughgall, Armagh.  Canadian records in 1833 show Joseph Jackson on his farm in Trafalgar Twp, Halton County, Ontario.  At that time there were 2 males over the age of 16 (likely Joseph and John), 3 females over the age of 16 (Anne and possibly two of Mary, Jane or Sophia?) and 2 females under the age of 16 (possibly Sophia - however she should have been about 17 - and two other daughters?).  The oldest daughters would have been about age 25 and 20, so one of them may have married before 1833, and may or may not have moved to Canada.  Robert would have been about 18 in 1833, and there is no record of him in Canada.  He may have stayed in Ireland or have died before the family emigrated to Canada prior to 1833.
