Joseph was married to Anne Jackson (maiden name unknown), and was born in Co. Armagh, Ireland.  At the time of the baptisms of his children, he and Anne were living in Ballymagerny, Loughgall, Armagh.  They emigrated to Canada with their children in April or May of 1832, and settled in Halton County, Ontario.  Joseph died in 1843, and Anne in 1839, in Halton County.  They had at least 8 children inlcuding John who died age 4 and Robert who died as an infant in Ireland, and Joseph who died on the ship enroute to Canada at age 11.  The other five children who arrived in Canada were Mary Anne, John, Jane, Sophia and Elizabeth.  They all settled and married there.

Joseph is my 3rd great-grandfather.  His daughter, Jane Jackson (my 2nd great-grandmother), married Andrew Cunningham on December 13th, 1833 in Halton Co., Ontario.
