Joshua Doyne reportedly was born in Carrickfergus ca 1634. Other accounts have him coming from Co Wexford. He emigrated to Maryland with brother Robert via Barbados in 1680. He settled in St. Mary’s Co, Maryland. Brother Robert held neighboring properties including one called ‘Carrickfergus’ and another called ‘Sligo’.
