I believe I have a number of Brennan’s originally from Achonry Sligo who moved to the Mayo side of Achonry (to Charlestown) when land became available in mid 1800s. The earliest birth in Mayo for my Brennan ancestors is 1832. I’d be interested in sharing genealogy and/or dna info to see if we can find a connection and share info. Married to Peter Brennan.
Julia was born in Ireland around 1830. This is just a wild guess: Her daughter, Catherine, was married in Boston in 1873 at the age of 23. That would make Julia about 50 years old when Catherine married. I found some Brennan's in Sligo, Carlow and Oflay. I have no other information. I was told that her maiden name may have been Connelly. There are some Connelly's and Brennans in Sligo that share the same land and or household business perhaps.

I am looking for my great grat grandfather, Martin Brennan, born County Sligo 1832 ( no parents known) arrived Australia 1853? and married Mary Cahill, also from Ireland, in 1856 Adelaide, South Australia. Many distant Brennan connections over the years from Tobercurry area but none have been my direvt line. Any information would be appreciated. PCD

Hello: Our family has a Peter Brennan who married Julia Connelly. They had a least one daughter named Katherine, born in County Galway in 1846.
Katherine eventually ends up in the US and marries Charles Horan. I can't tell you very much as I've not done research on the
the Brennans. I did find on Griffiths Valuation some Connellys and Brennans living in County Sligo right next to each other.
