Julia Rowe was born on Cannon Row in Navan on May 13, 1882 to parent's Michael Rowe and Bridget Mahon Tallon Rowe. Her father Michael was a wool sorter, her mother Bridget, a seamstress. Listed below are Rowe siblings. She also had older Tallon step-siblings.

27 Apr 1900 Father Michael Rowe died from a heart valve regurgitation issue in Cork, Ireland where they lived in #32 Evergreen Building (Cork Census 1901) No information yet on when they moved to Cork. I have yet to discover a birth certificate for her father, but have discovered later siblings from his parents' names supplied on marriage certificates.

IMMIGRATION: 3 Aug 1901 Julia Rowe arrived in New York aboard the SS Campania with her mother Bridget and 6 Rowe siblings, her step-brother John Tallon met them at the gate. (He emigrated about 1889.) Julia Rowe's family made their home in Philadelphia, PA.

1909 Julia married William Archer Sholto Jackson Douglas in Philadelphia, PA.
19 July 1910 Julia Rowe Douglas gave birth to son (my grandfather), Richard Joseph Maginis Douglas in Philadelphia, PA.

11 February 1911 Julia Rowe Douglas died of pneumonia.
15 February 1911 buried in Catholic Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.

  • Hi there. I think I can help. My great grandfather was Bernard Roe from Cannon Row, Navan, born 1871 to Thomas Roe, who was a miller. I think Michael and Bernard were brothers. Bernard moved to Cork too.

Yes, I believe Michael is the oldest son of Thomas Roe and Julia Commons. I would definitely be interested in exchanging Roe family genealogy with you.
