Luke Hogan Sr. was born in October, 1799 in Borrisokane, Tipperary, Ireland. We seek any new information on his Parents and Siblings.

In 1832, he and his Wife, Elizabeth (Bollard), of Terryglass, and their first born, joined Elizabeth's (Eliza) Parents and siblings on a voyage to Canada in the lumber barges of the time. Luke continued his trade in Stone Masonry and had a hand in building the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, Canada.

They had six children in all, whom I am tracking down now, seeking their progeny.

As a Stonemason, Luke would have apprenticed in the quarries around Borrisokane. I do not know the Family Nickname and am eager to discover this, lf possible, please contact me if you have any ideas on how I may determine this. Here is a little poem that includes the Nicknames I know.

Hogan Family Nicknames

The Bush, The Branch,

the Mac and The Cranch,

The Tops, The Bawns,

and The Cliathawns (not sure of spelling)
