Margaret Hamilton married Patrick McQuilkin who was born in about 1796. They lived in a small cottage on a small farm in East Torr, County Antrim. She died 15.11.1865 & he died 2.5.1886. Their children were Mary, Alexander, James, Patrick and John.

Both Margaret and Patrick died  at East Torr in the Parish of Culfeightrin, County Antrim. Their eldest son, John, born 3 August 1835 emigrated to new Zealand with his wife Mary Sweeney, born 1847 and whose father was a Coast Guard at Torr head.

  • I would like to find out about Margaret Hamilton's parents, siblings and ancestors. Patrick McQuilkin's ancestors came from Rathlin Island, maybe the Hamiltons did also?
