Margaret Joyce was born circa 1825 in Kilgeever Parish, County Mayo. She married John Ball and had two children in Ireland. Michael Ball, circa 1845 and Hanora Ball (Hannah) circa 1847.
The family left Ireland during the Great Hunger and settled in Massachusetts. The family is listed in the 1850 US Census as residing in Clinton Massachusetts. The family eventually moved to Wisconsin and by the 1860 Us Census showed them living in Hannover Wisconsin. They eventually settled in St. Croix County Wisconsin.
Margaret had a sister named Cecily Joyce and their father was Dominick Joyce. She may have had more siblings but I am not sure.
