My name is Richard Thompson and I am the grandson of Sarah Meaney of Borrisokane. Sarah and Margret were sisters. My grandmother Sarah was in Ireland in 1901 as she was listed on the Census page of that year. She moved to Philadelphia sometime after that and married my grandfather Harry Thompson in Philadelphia. I am not sure of when they were married, but my father was born in Philadelphia in 1912 so it had to be a year or so before. I am trying to locate a record of the marriage from Philadelphia. If you could locate any information regarding how and when Sarah came to the USA, I would be very grateful

Richard Thompson - I found Sarah's passenger card on Familysearch.com. Sarah arrived in Philadelphia on the SS Haverford, 22 Oct 1911, age 31, from Borrisokane, Co Tipperary. Her father was Michael Meaney. Her occupation was listed as H.Maid. She was going to live with her sister, Margaret Quigley at 422 N 31st St. She was 5' - 4-1/2" tall, fair complexion, dark brown hair with brown eyes and no distiquishing marks.
I found a marriage listing in Phila for Sarah E. Meaney and Harry G. Thompson in 1911. No other details.
I am Damyon Verbo, husband to your cousin Theresa Jeannette Quigley Verbo. We are both 66 yo living in Limerick, PA. We visited Borrisokane last Sept. We got really close to meeting another cousin Michael Meaney who lives in Borrisokane still. I created a family tree on the following sites, Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.com, and MyHeritage.com. The tree on Ancestry.com is titled Quigley Family Tree and Tina (Theresa) login there is 2tjq. Tina also had her DNA tested on Ancestry.com and for her there are three first cousins, four second cousins, 15 third cousins, 27 fourth cousins. One of the fourth cousins is named Sandra Thompson who may be closely related to you. Jan Hassett is listed as a second cousing and Hassetts are related through the Meaneys, or so I believe.
My direct email address is email@example.com is you choose to directly communicate.
All the best,
