Migrated to/Born in Australia
Mary was born in Ireland sometime around 1819. In 1841 she married John Donovan at St Peter's Parish in Dublin on 4 May. Not long after, she and John migrated to Australia. They arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 15 October 1841 on board the ship "Ganges." They are listed as Servant and Maid. Mary is noted as being 22 years old.
Not much is known about their time in Fremantle but they moved to the town of York just east of what is now Perth, Western Australia, and eventually established themselves as farmers.
Mary died on 4 March in 1877 at Marling in the district of York and is buried in the York Cemetery.
