Mary Ann "Molly" Moran was born on the 27th of January 1869 in Bradford, Yorkshire England. She died on March 13th 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland USA.

She was the daughter of William Moran (ca. 1835 Co. Sligo - 1921 England) and Catherine Kenny (1841 Co. Sligo- 1892 England).

She emigrated to Philadelphia, PA by herself (between. 1882 -1888). She married Michael J. Ginty (1866-1941) in Philadelphia, PA on 7 July 1888 and was mother of 6 children (five girls and one boy). They settled in Baltimore, Maryland about 1893.

She died inBaltimore, Maryland on the 13th March 1943. Her parents didn't emigrate.

This is interesting. My great grandmother was Mary Ellen Moran, born in 1879 in Bradford, Yorkshire. Her parents were Martin Moran and Anne Gallagher from Sligo, Ireland. Martin was from Kilmactigue and Tobercurry. The family emigrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1882.

Hi Drew! Thanks for the message. I haven't been able to find many records in Ireland for my Morans, esp. Mary Ann's parents because I'm not sure the birth records still exist/are available online for the years they were likely born in the Sligo Catholic parishes where I believe they came from. I'm not sure when they moved to England, but Mary Ann's parents were married in England and all of their children were born there, and her birth record in England doesn't give any birth info about her parents. I don't know anything definitely about Thomas Moran's siblings, but possibly your Martin and my Thomas Moran are brothers or cousins. Thanks for the possible tip and I'll check out what I can find with Martin and Thomas as possible relatives. My family tree is public in Ancestry if you'd like to take a look. Thanks for your response. I have invited you to view my tree on Ancestry. We certainly could be related going back to Sligo. I don't have many details of Irish records either.

Have you had your DNA tested ? I have. That might confirm a link, or at least we are heading in the right direction.
