Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in Australia
Mary Anne Downey or Bridget Downie/Downey was charged with stealing boots from the Gresham Hotel in December 1836, along with Sarah Walsh. Sarah was transported to Sydney Australia on board the convict ship "Sir Charles Forbes arriving in Neutral Bay on Christmas Day 1837. On board the ship was Bridget Downie/Downey. Bridget was charged with stealing boot so I am inclined to think Mary Anne and Bridget are one in the same person. It is interesting that Mary Anne Downey married a William Walsh in Parramatta NSW 1844. Any assistance with finding information about these two would be very much appreciated.
