Back to List

Mary Anne Kelly was most likely born across the street from Leskinfere Church in what is now called Clough in the County of Wexford.  Mary Anne was the daughter of Charles Kelly and Eleanor (maiden name unknown).

Her siblings were Charles Edward Kelly (1838-1901) and William Spence Kelly (1839-1924).

She married first Samuel Berry (son of Charles Berry) followed by Michael Bartholomew Moore.

At one point she and her family relocated to Ballymoyle located in County Wicklow.  Her father and mother were schoolmasters and so was her first husband, Samuel.  She also became a schoolmaster and most likely taught first in Clough and then in Ballymoyle.

Her death came after battling two years of breast cancer.

  • If possible, may I correct this record as my Great Great Grandfather, Samuel Berry is mentioned in the bio. His Fathers name is given as Charles Berry, which is incorrect. His name was George Berry according to their marriage certificate which is in our family archives. I hope this is helpful, Thank you
