Mary Rossiter was born in Wexford Town in 1842, the daughter of William Rossiter and Bridget ( Biddy ) Breen. They lived in Duke Street, and when Mary married Patrick Walsh, a fowl merchant, in April 1866 William was listed as ' porter ' and Patrick's father, John Walsh, listed as ' farmer '. Mary was a widow when she married in 1866, having previously married John Furlong in 1859, but he died in 1860 aged only 22.
Mary and Patrick's daughter, Mary Anne, born 1876, was our grandmother. Other children were;
Patrick, Mary, John Joseph, Margaret, William, Mary Ellen, Agnes, Frances and Hannah.
Patrick Walsh senior was born in Wexford Town in 1844, father John Walsh, mother Mary Anne Leary.
