Mary Coll was the daughter of Thomas Coll and Sarah Elwood. She was born in County Roscommon about 1845. She married Thomas Higgins in County Roscommon about 1860. They had eight known children. Patrick J. born about 10 Jul 1863, Thomas born on 23 Jul 1864, Mary and Margaret born on 27 Jul 1866. Ellen "Nellie" born on 11 May 1869, Mary Anne born on 13 Oct 1873, Sarah born about 1874 and Catherine “Kate” born about 1878. Patrick, Thomas, Mary, Ellen “Nellie" and Sarah emigrated to New Jersey. Mary died in County Roscommon on 8 Mar 1909.
