  • Mary McSweeney Shea (1845-1922) was my great grandmother. She was the second wife of Michael Shea. Since Michael's first wife, Bridget, was from Gleninchaquin, I'm assuming that he was also from the same area in County Kerry.

    This program required  a county associated with Mary so I added County Kerry but I do not know for sure where Mary was actually born in Irleand. Ancestry places my DNA in both the east Beara Peninsula, and also in Donegal! So mary may have been from the north.

    I'm planning a trip to Ireland in May 2022 and will definitely be visiting Kenmare. But in the meantime, I would love to know if I have any Irish cousins realted to Mary or Michael Shea still living near there.
