When Mary Ellen Deeny was born on January 6, 1844, in Kilmacrennan, Donegal, Ireland, her father, James, was 43, and her mother, Bridget, was 36. She married James H Hogan in 1870. They had one child during their marriage. She died on June 23, 1927, in Spring Valley, Iowa, at the age of 83, and was buried in Perry, Iowa.

I am also related to this family. Mary Ellen Deeney’s mother was Bridget Gallagher. I’m fairly certain her father was my 5th great grandfather. I’m currently researching this line and would be interested in connecting with the author of this post. Is there a way to do that? Thank you.

I'm just seeing this now by searching for Gallagher's within the message boards. I am the poster of this information. Mary Ellen Deeney's mom was Bridget Gallagher as you mention. Bridget married James Deeney. Bridget and James are my 2X Great Grand Aunt/Uncle with the Deeney being the blood line.
