Mary Jane Bell was the daughter of Edward & Catherine Bell. Catherine's maiden name was Lackey, who may have been born in Cavan. Catherine may have died 13 July 1864 - I have nothing to date to confirm that this is indeed Edward’s wife, and Mary's mother. But it could be. The entry is in the same parish register as her daughter - Mary Jane’s children have been baptised. The only words on the parish entry dated July 1864 are: “13th - Funeral of Mrs Bell - Killmore?” or Killanure (Killynure)? townlands. Thomas Bell married Catherine Smith Parish of Kilmore, in Crosserlough 26 May 1859. Mary Jane Bell married twice before immigrating to Australia. 1. Edward Murray 8 July 1861. Kilmore Diocese, Dublin, - Parish Crosserlough. [Lisdonnish & Derrylahan town lands are both on the marriage record. Edward Murray died between 1868 & 1873 in Cavan(?). Edward & Mary Jane Murray had 4 children - Annie Murray Born abt. 1862 Ballyjames Duff. (Annie is my direct line). John Murray Born abt. 1864, Derrylahan, Crosserlough, Cavan. Baptised 2 Jan 1865, Crosserlough. Mary and Catherine Murray (twins?) both Born abt. 1866 Crosserlough . Both were Baptised - 20 May 1867 in Crosserlough, Cavan, Ireland; townland: Lisdonnish. Diocese: Kilmore. Mary Murray (twin) died before 1878. 2. Thomas Hyland married Mary Jane About 1872, Crosserlough, Cavan. Thomas & Mary Jane; now Mrs Hyland, had 2 children in Ireland: Rose Ann - Born Abt. 1873 in Cavan, Ireland Mary Jane - Born 21 Jun 1876 in Lisdonnish Townland, Kilnaleck, Cavan, Ireland (this date has come from Ancestry and can't be confirmed there was no source. --------- Immigrated to Australia. 02 Feb 1878 in London, England; Aboard the "Ironside" from London. Under the name of Hyland. Thomas & Mary Jane and 7 children. I have the shipping record. Thomas & Catherine Bell and their 3 children - Edward, Patrick & Mary, were also on the same shipping record immigrating to Australia. Thomas being Mary Jane's brother.
