Mary or Mary Jane as she was known on arrival in New South Wales was one of several Irish orphan girls sent to the colonies. I would like to know more about her and locate information like the orphanage she may have come from, the names of her parents, her parents death certificates etc. She was apparently from Dublin but I don't know which parish, only that she was Catholic. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful,

Spouse (First Name/s and Maiden/Surname) Mary married Joseph Peck (1813-1875) from Essex in England in 1874 aged approx 39 years. Joseph died around 12 months later leaving her the greengrocer's shop in Pitt St Sydney that he owned. They had no children of their own. VIEW SOURCE
Number of Children Mary had 3 children with Henry Keck, son of Captain Thomas Keck, superintendent of Dublin Castle and from County Tipperary originally. He was married and emigrated to New South Wales in 1835 with all his children. Mary went to work for him circa 1854 when she was approx 19 years. The three children were: Emily Jane Chambers (1856-1926) who married John Parsons (1853-1924) and they had 11 children. Frederick Henry Chambers (1858-1915) who married Johanna Flynn (1880-1946) and they had 13 children. William Terry Chambers (1860-1862) who was buried in the Devonshire St Cemetery in an unmarked grave and was not reinterred when the cemetery was closed and the land used for the construction of Central Railway Station, Sydney. Their father Henry Keck died on 25th December 1863 leaving Mary with 3 illegitimate children under the age of 10 to raise on her own. VIEW SOURCE
