Mary McPhail, born Wicklow, Ireland 1823 or 1833. (Her mother, Mary McPhail.) Migrated to Fremantle, Western Australia 3.9.1853 Ship "Clara". There doesn't appear to be any records of the Passenger List for this ship. Mary was an Irish needle lady who emigrated to Western Australia to escape the harsh conditions following the Potato Famine. Mary worked for Mrs. Slade at "Glenavon" Toodyay, Western Australia and married Francis Hastings in Toodyay. Mary is my Great Great Grandmother.
