My mother Mary Scollan (1908-1978) was born in Carrickreevagh, Glenfarn, Co Leitrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of Patrick & Bridget (nee Cullen). She immigrated to New York, USA @ age17. She was sponsered by her uncle, Patrick Cullen. She found work as a nurse and paid for her brother James's passage, they in turn worked and paid for their sister Margaret's passage and finally they all worked to pay for their youngest brother Michael's passage.
