After migrating from Scotland on "The Light Of the Age", Mathew and Ellen had A number of children to join Mathew Junior, who was born in Scotland.

John Joseph "Jack, Patrick William, James Ross and Mary Ellen survived childhood - not as lucky as at least four siblings who fell victim to various childhood diseases.

There are now many descendants, who nearly all live in Queensland, Australia.
