Born in Rathkeale, County Limerick, to Michael & Mary (Barry) McNamara. Siblings were Anna Marie, Teresa, George, James, Emily, Michael Philip, Sylvester, and William John. When her father died in 1896, she and her sister Emily were sent to the Mount St. Vincent Girls' Convent Orphanage in Limerick. They remained at the orphanage until 1908 or so. She and Emily worked as domestics in London for a time. Adeline emigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in 1913. (Their uncle, Thomas McNamara, sent them money to emigrate. Emily had emigrated the year before.) They continued to work as domestics. Adeline eventually married Ardell Hamilton on January 28, 1918, in Portland, Maine, USA. They lived in Portland and had a daughter, Ruth Emily. Ardell died in 1938. She married George Brackett in 1948 and lived in Falmouth, Maine, USA. She died December 22, 1962, in Portland, Maine.
