Michael F. Seymour was the son of John Joseph (JJ) Seymour and Margaret Elizabeth Anderson. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel at 6 St. Mary’s Place, Island Road, Limerick on 14 September 1849. His Godparents were Thomas Quin and Eliza Moran. The priest was Rev M. Kenyon. Michael emigrated with his family from Limerick to New York on Barque Celeste during the summer of 1850. He lived in Orange New Jersey. Starting as a hatter, he became the owner of Seymour’s Cafe at the corner of Main and Day Streets in Orange. He died in Orange and is buried in St John’s Cemetery.
