Michael Henry Keenan was born on September 1, 1830, in possibly Ballymote, Sligo, Ireland to Patrick Keenan, age 31, and Margaret Ann Henry, age 31. He married Mary Gorman on April 24, 1851, in Boston, Massachusetts. They had eight children in 20 years. He died on August 20, 1900, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 69.
