He emigrated in 1874 from Kerry to New York.
He married Mary Ann Sullivan in 1878 in Colchester, CT, USA. They had eight children in 18 years.
He died on July 21, 1927, in Colchester, Connecticut, at the age of 72, and was buried in St. Andrew's cemetery in Colchester.
