Born In Claras, Cashel West in 1912. Father Daniel Skelly, a tailor, Mother Margaret Murray. I am still searching for any information on Margaret Murray, she is my grandmother. She died circa 1915.
Michael emigrated to Boston in 1930, as did his sister Annie. They went to an aunt, possibly named Doran, in S Boston. They both moved on to New York at some stage. Michael joined the US army and went to Germany and North Africa during WW2. His military records were lost in a fire.
Annie suffered from MS and never married. I have no further information on Annie, any information much appreciated. She died in Brooklyn, NY, date unknown.
Michael's father, Daniel and elder sister Mary died in the early 1940s while Michael was in Germany. He never returned to Ireland.
Michael married in 1953 in Brooklyn NY, had 2 children who grew up in Boston and Dublin.
Michael died in Ft Lauderdale FL in 1982. He was my father.
Mary and her husband James Ryan had 3 sons, all now deceased. One son lived in London, and died in 2007. I do not know if he had a family. His children would be my first cousins, once removed. I would love to hear from anyone who knows or are related to the above people. I am especially interested in any family photos from Claras.
