Michael Keegan was born in Ireland in April ~1834, county unknown. He emigrated first to Scotland (date unknown), and was married there to Margaret Ellen McGuire. There first 3 children were born in Scotland, then they all emigrated to the US in May of 1865 and came through New York. From there they went to Putnam and then Bureau County, IL, working for the railroad. There last child James was born in Putnam County in 1868. Michae's wife Margaret "Maggie" died in 1883 and he remarried Mary McGuire Mevich in 1898 at age 64. He died in 1913 in Putnam, IL.
