Michael McGeeney : Short Biography

I think Michael had older brothers Stephen (b. 1835), Michael (b. 1840 and probably died young), and James (b. 1844). His father was Patrick (b. @1815) and his mother was Mary or Margaret Murphy. He married Martha Connor (b. 1848), daughter of Bernard, in 1868. They went to Scotland for a time, where she gave birth to their first son in 1869, and then came to the U.S. in about 1871, settling in northeastern Kansas. They had 6 sons and one daughter. One of the sons and the daughter died as children. He worked as a laborer, farmer, stone mason and, for a time, postmaster. He died of pneumonia 8 years after Martha.
