Looking for parents , siblings of my 4X maternal Gt grandfather , Michael Swift born in Kilmore Co Mayo in March 1797 , or thereabouts. He joined , for life, the British Army in 1814 at Waterford & was a private in the 77th Regiment of Foot, (Connaught Rangers) for about 23 years until discharged on health grounds as an Chelsea Out Pensioner, living in Berwick upon Tweed , his wife's birth town , until his death in 1867. he had 4 daughters .

My 3x paternal gr-grandmother Ellen/Elenora Swift m. to Martin Rock is in a good age range to have been a sister of your Michael Swift. I have estimated her birth circa: 1790. I have no further information on her origins or other family members, unfortunately. Martin and Ellen are the backward end points for that branch of my tree. All clues have led me to Kilmore parish, Kilcommon, and Castelmore parishes. My Rock family married with the Lally, Lavelle, Cain/Keane, Monaghan, and McDonnell families from the area.

I am currently piecing together as much information as possible on their children who were all born and married in Ireland, several of whom emigrated to the US. I have scads of information from the US on down, naturally. Am delighted to share if any of the above information rings a bell with any other XO Ireland members.
