My second great grandfather, Michael Pickett, came to Canada from Ireland during the famine. I found an emigration record indicating he arrived in July 1947and landed at Quebec. (if this is him). My second great grandmother, Margaret O'Brien, may have arrived in '46 or'47. I have found 2 emigration records for her and not sure which is her. They both ended up in Wellington, Ontario and settled and farmed the land in the Arthur/Kenilworth area. They married in 1848 and had 10 children together ( Ellen, John, Margaret, Ann, Michael, Mary Jane, Elizabeth, Patrick, Timothy and Agnes Catherine).&Timothy. I'm not sure where Michael and Margaret came from in Ireland though some think Cork and Clare.
I really want to know if I have any relatives left in Ireland. Who were Michael and Margaret's family members and what happened to them? I would love to come to Ireland soon and stand on the soil that my ancestors stood on!
This is such a great idea and I so hope that someone in Ireland says "oh my goodness, Michael Pickett!!"
Thank you for this opportunity and holding breath to hear back.
Sincerely, Michelle Pickett
