Nabla Fisher 1853 : Short Biography

    My maternal great grandmother, Nabla Fisher, was born to Edward Fisher and (possibly) Mabel Ward.    Nabla was born abt. 1853 in Meenacharvey, County Donegal. She had several siblings.  Only two are known (Francis "Frank" Fisher born 1845, immigrated to the US in 1863 at age 18, married Bridget Carr in 1877, and died in Indiana in 1897) and (Patrick Fisher born in 1841, and married Bridget "Biddy" Doherty in 1868.  Unsure of date of death.)  I am unsure of other sibling names.

  Nabla married William Byrne on February 16, 1879.  William died on January 7, 1895 at the age of 50 in Altclogh, Carrick, County Donegal.

   I would love to know any more information if anyone has it!

Hi Mary Beth, 

Very interesting to read your information regarding your Great Grandmother Nabla Fisher, Nabla Fisher was my Grandmother but her husband, my Grandfather, was Peter Boyle from Stranagartan, that is where my Father was born, his mother passed away in 1922.  So I am confused when you say that Nabla married William Byrne, from Altclough, I was born and raised in Altclough and know where the Byrne house is/was.  I'd love if we could get in touch, my name is Nabla Rooney (nee Boyle) named after my Grandmother.  I live in WA State.

Do you have any cousins in Boston? Are you on FB?  My Great Grandparents would be Patrick Fisher and Bridget Doherty, they married in 1868.

     I have been doing some further research and would love to talk with you about our Fisher connection!  I cannot believe you are from Altclogh where my mother was born!
