  • Not sure if this matters much but the village town of Mayo is not too far from the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada,  BUT Mayo is actually situated in the province of Quebec - (across the river from Ottawa). Do you know if Nancy had any children there?  There was, at one time a large group of Maloney families there. Would have to check to see if any Maloney's are left there now.

Killala, Ireland was fairly close to my ancestors too. However, my family moved directly to Cantley, Quebec (also not too far from Mayo, Quebec). It is easier to find information if you know exactly where a place is located. If you Google -  Mayo, Quebec, Canada, you will get a map of the area.
