My Timothy Bryan (son of Thomas) was a tailor (born circa 1832-1837 in Ireland) and was in Liverpool from 1861. At the time of Timothy's marriage in 1862, Thomas is recorded as a joiner. They have not been found in 1851 or 1841 and no UK record says where in Ireland Timothy was born but recent contact with a 2nd cousin says origin is County Wexford & the family dropping the "O" from there name when in England. This is all based on "word of mouth". I just wondered if there could be a link with this Thomas O'Brien or if anyone has anything to add. Our Timothy was RC.

Hi, my great great grandfather was Patrick O’Brien, a tailor in Clone West (near Monamolin and Ferns) Co Wexford.
His 2 sons were tailors too, Michael (a tailor in Arklow, but born in Wexford) and I think John.

Do you have any other information on your O’Brien ancestors from Wexford?

As you’ve said he was a Tailor, they maybe the same O’Brien family?

Hi Sinead. Unfortunately, I don't know much at all about my Bryans/Briens/O'Briens and only what I posted above. I took out a subs with rootsireland recently and I am reviewing all the baptisms that I collected over the years again. As yet I still don't actually have any Timothy baptised in Co Wexford. I visited Wexford in September and discovered with the help of a local genealogist, a Thomas Brien (tailor) who died at Enniscorthy in 1878. Could he be one of yours?

I continue to work on this and I'm happy to share info found on Brien tailors and others I found in the area / period. I can't see a way to attach documents here?
