Owen Fee was born in 1804 and lived in the Drumaconvern area. He married Margaret McMahon around 1834. In 1835 they left Ireland for Canada and landed in either Halifax, Nova Sotia or St. John New Brunswick. From there they traveled by steamboat on the St. Lawrence River to Montreal. They settled for a time in the small town of Marieville (south east of Montreal) where their son James was born. Shortly after James' birth they travelled south across the border into the US and settled in their lifelong home of Rochester, NY.
