Owen Moraghan was born about 1800 in Cleaheen (Cléithín), Tumna, County Roscommon, Ireland and farmed land bordering onto the River Shannon. The witness to his death was Pat Morahan. Pat Morahan was one of Owen’s sons and was born in 1846 and died on the 22nd July 1926 at Cleaheen (Cléithín). Owen's eldest son, James, left Ireland during the Great Famine in the mid 1840's to stay witth his uncle, Roger Moraghan, in Birmingham, England.
